Hello, world! We are open!
OPEN MIND is an innovative project which brings top expertise from partners in five countries to develop a gamified Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) which will introduce female learners and students from diverse studies to Social Entrepreneurship.
This Erasmus+ cooperation involves: VUZF University of Finance, Business and Entrepreneurship (coordinator), Business Foundation for Education, “D.A.Tsenov” Academy of Economics – Svishtov, the technological company 11235 Ltd from Bulgaria, the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development – Greece, the University of Lodz – Poland, the University “Titu Maioerescu” – Romania and the University of Sheffield – United Kingdom.
In the next 2 years the partnership will produce 3 main intellectual outputs:
1. Massive online open course (MOOC) “Introduction in Social Entrepreneurship” for students from diverse fields of study.
2. Innovative gamified online platform, which will operate in 5 languages (English, Bulgarian, Greek, Polish and Romanian) and will be maintained at least until 2020. 60 trainers will be trained to provide ongoing support to learners. At least 600 students will be enrolled in the course till the end of the project.
3. Impact assessment report will help outline the major outcomes of the project and attract strategic support for the initiative after the project lifetime. It will be presented during the final events in partners’ countries.
During the kick-off meeting in Athens the partners have discussed the methodology and technical features of the platform, which is expected to start in November 2017. Meanwhile the partners will jointly elaborate various modules, which will familiarize the students with the basics of social entrepreneurship: how to identify opportunity, create a business model, prepare business plan, attract investors, learn how to establish, effectively manage and communicate the activity of a social startup, and how to apply various replication and exit strategies.
As a result, OPEN MIND will improve access to entrepreneurship training for a large number of students which are under-represented in entrepreneurship and ensure that they have an opportunity to acquire entrepreneurial skills, start up and operate in business or self-employment, regardless of their gender and background.
The gamification will provide a unique and memorable experiential learning environment, in which students will develop entrepreneurship knowledge and entrepreneurial skills and mindset at the same time.
